Celebrating the National Oyster Day in my backyard with some buttery Kumamotos and Kumis from my corner fishmonger. Fun fact, they are importing both types of oysters from Taylor Shellfish. Those guys are the same guys who import farmed sea bream directly from Turkey. Another reason to fall in love with this neighborhood.

Walnut sourdough bread from Arizmendi topped with fresh ricotta, Kevin's figs (imported from Turkey!) drizzled with lavender honey.

I love this photo so much because everything featured here is local. Lemons and tomatoes are from the garden, both Manila and Little Neck clams are from the same fishmonger and the bread is from Tartine. It was a Wednesday afternoon when I made this dish for myself. I had taken a sick day, because I was quite sick, and instead of a simmering pot of lemony and garlicky noodle soup, I wanted a big plate of lemony and garlicky clam pasta. What a treat.

Arugula salad with peaches, prosciutto and burrata, drizzled with spicy olive oil and topped with pine nuts and black pepper.

Lazy girl lunch

When I learned how to use my grill.

Another treat from my fishmonger: yellowtail collars, aka hamachi kama.

Cozy Sunday mornings with Ritual coffee and Tartine banana cream pie.

I made the best omelette ever with these goodies and loads of butter.

I'm still waiting for NYT to come up with a "with red mullets" t-shirt.

Homemade ceviche with fresh Aegean sardines.

The under appreciated joy of al fresco dining

Fresh sourdough, a generous dollop of pesto, garden tomatoes, drizzle of olive oil and flaky salt.

Key to my heart.

Shrimp scampi dinner moment.
